Buy A Buck

Volunteers work diligently to replace the Buck Fence along Millionaires Pool (October 2012)

Our first project  – the “Buy a Buck” campaign. Harriman State Park's jack fence has served as a landmark to the Island Park community for 100+ years. We want to see this historic landmark fence preserved for generations to come. What HSP needs more than anything is funding for fencing materials and we are looking to the community in hopes of finding support for this project.

$100 a “buck” (one section of jack fence) covers the cost of removing the old fence, materials, erecting the new fence, maintenance of the fence for 5 years, and your name of choice branded on the number of bucks you buy - character limit applies. Imagine a jack fence along highway 20 built by the community and bearing the names of the people who made it happen.  


Three premium locations have been established:  The Bing Lempke Parking Area, aka Last Chance Fishing Access, The East Gate, aka 'The Mail Box," and Millionaire's Pool.  $500 will purchase 1 "Buck" at either Bing Lempke or the East Gate plus 4 other bucks to be determined.  $1,000 will purchase 1 "Buck" at Millionaire's Pool and 9 other bucks to be determined all bucks will be branded.
